Pastor Dallas Blacklock Sr.; knew at an early age of 15 that he was called to preach the Gospel. Since then he has become a dynamic and spirit-filled minister who challenges you with biblical and life applicable teachings. He serves as the Lead Pastor of First Mt. Carmel M.B.C. “The Church with Outstretched Arms” in the Historic 5th Ward of Houston, TX.
Pastor Dallas is a native of Houston, TX. He obtained a B.A. in Philosophy/Religion with minors in Sociology and Business Administration from McPherson College in Kansas. He later earned his Masters in Educational Administration from Sam Houston State University.
Pastor Dallas was formerly the Associate Head Coach/Running Backs Coach/Recruiting Coordinator at Texas Southern University. Prior to that he served as the Director of High School Relations at the University of Houston. Before the University of Houston, Pastor Dallas was a teacher and Head Football Coach at Sharpstown High School, where he was instrumental in reducing the dropout rate, improving the leadership curriculum, and sending numerous student-athletes to college. From his time at Sharpstown, he received a several of coach of the year, teacher of the year, and even “Man of the Year” awards. He appeared on the PBS “Frontline” special “Dropout Nation” in connection with his work at Sharpstown.
Whether working with young men on the football field or proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ, Pastor Dallas helps people apply the timeless truths of scripture to their everyday lives.
He is husband the to his beautiful wife Dr. Syreeta Y. Blacklock and father to his 3 adorable children Dallas Jr., Jadyn, and Jiah.
